- What is the approximate expenditure a student will incur per year to study at BITS, Pilani -Dubai with hostel facility?
The cost per year will approximately amount to Dhs. 70000 (Tuition fee- Dhs.35000+Hostel fee- Dhs. 30000+ Visa and Insurance- Dhs.3650 + Misc for purchase of books/ stationery etc).
1 USD= 3.65 Dirhams and hence the cost per year of Dhs. 70000 given above will approximately amount to USD 19000* or Indian Rupees 9 Lakhs* per annum.
*The Dollar and Rupee conversion is subject to the currency exchange rate as on the date of payment.
- Is it possible to pay the fee in installments?
Yes, BITS, Pilani-Dubai has facilitated the easy payment of tuition and hostel fee. Tuition fee of Dhs.35000 (Dh. 17500 per semester) is payable in 4 equal installments of Dhs. 8750 each and the hostel fee of Dhs.30000 (Dhs. 15000 per semester) can be paid semester-wise as Dhs.15000 per semester. Each year has 2 semesters.
- What is the tuition fee payment schedule?
The Tuition fee of Dhs. 35000 divided as Dhs. 17500 per semester is payable as per the schedule mentioned below for academic year 2010-11(1st year).
- I Semester:
I installment- Dhs. 8750- payable at the time of admission
II installment- Dhs. 8750- payable in November (Fee notification with exact payment dates will be enclosed with the Admission offer letter) - II Semester:
I installment- Dhs. 8750- payable on or before the date of registration of II Semester (Mostly 30/31st Jan )
II installment: Dhs.8750- payable in April (Fee notification with exact payment dates will be enclosed with the Admission offer letter)

- What is the hostel fee payment schedule?
The Hostel fee of Dhs. 30000 divided as Dhs. 15000 per semester is payable as per the schedule mentioned below for the 1st year.
- I semester- Dhs.15000- at the time of admission
- II semester- Dhs.15000- payable in November
Besides the students are required to secure the booking of their hostel room for every following year by paying the hostel fee of the 1st semester of the subsequent year in April every year.
A detailed fee payment schedule indicating the above dates will be sent with the Admission offer letter.
- What is the amount a student will pay upfront at the time of admission?
A student will be required to pay the following upon confirmation of admission including hostel and student residence visa. Those students who do not require hostel facilities and already have a visa can exclude the payment of the hostel and visa fee from the below payment.
* The second equal installment of 1st semester tuition fee amounting to Dhs.8750 is payable in November. Are Admission fee, Activity fee and Caution deposits payable every year?
Admission fee, Activity fee and Caution Deposits are one-time payments only and the Caution Deposits are fully refundable upon completion of the programme if the student does not have any breakages/damages against his/her account.
- How is the merit scholarship given in the first semester for students above 80% and 90% overall aggregate?
BITS, Pilani–Dubai offers merit scholarship of 15% & 20% respectively on the 1st semester tuition fee to students securing an overall aggregate of above 80% and above 90% in the qualifying examination. Hence students who have secured above 80% and above 90% aggregate marks are required to pay an amount of AED 7437.50 (above 80%) or AED 7000/- (above 90%) respectively as first and second installment of 1st semester tuition fee and not AED 8750/- as indicated above. You will be eligible for scholarship in the subsequent semesters based upon your academic performance as per our scholarship policy mentioned in the bulletin and website.
- What will be the mode of payment?
The above fee can be paid by cash / cheque / DD or TT / MT and the following instructions are required to be followed while making the payment by any one of the above modes.
- All Cheques/Demand Drafts should be drawn in favor of "ETA -NET" payable in AED at Dubai without any corrections or alterations.
- If the amount is paid in US $ drafts or TT ( USD 1 = AED 3.65), an amount of US $ 50/- is to be added to the fee, payable towards bank charges.
