The workshop has been setup in an area of 15,000 square feet having a covered shed of 7,000 square feet at Al-Quoz, a distance of 5 km from the Campus, adjacent to the ASCON workshop. This place is connected by suitable transport system with the main Campus building. It has been ensured while preparing the timetable that adequate time gap exists for transporting students to and from the Workshop without affecting the hours stipulated for Workshop Practicals.
The workshop consists of the following sections and other miscellaneous machine tools:-
CNC Section, Machine Tools Section, Smithy Section, Foundry Section, Welding Section, Electroplating Section, Carpentry Section, Fitting Section, Sheet Metal Section, Metrology Section, Miscellaneous Machine Tools Section.
Safety is given prime importance and all the safety equipment required like goggles, gloves, nose masks, face shields are made available in the workshop. Coveralls and safety shoes are made mandatory for students undergoing this course.
A first aid box is fully equipped with required number of first aid material. Faculty are trained in the use of first aid material. Fire fighting equipment is provided at appropriate places to ensure safety standards.
